Signal Integrity Webinar Series
Title: Extending the Functionality of the Oscilloscope
Date: December 11, 2019
Time: 8am PT/ 11am ET
Presented By: Steve Sandler, Founder and CEO of Picotest
Sponsored by: Rohde & Schwarz
Abstract:
Modern instruments are available to perform almost any measurement with extreme accuracy and resolution. Despite this, there has been a trend to include more capabilities within the most common of benchtop instruments, the oscilloscope. In past years, oscilloscopes have added basic additional features, such as signal generators, frequency response analysis capabilities, including power supply rejection ration (PSRR) and control loop response. While these measurements can generally be performed with more accuracy, dynamic range and resolution using a frequency response or vector network analyzer, engineers are attracted to the single instrument solution.
This webinar focuses on the overview of these new features, the tradeoffs and limits compared with traditional instruments and my own crystal ball predictions for what might come next.
